Street casualties

roadkill.jpg Let this stand in for the wreath and other memorial objects marking the death of another pedestrian over on East Riverside during this past week. In front of our house, we find one of these wheels or some other object flown from a vehicle at least once a week. This is just the most recent one. We’re building a decorative collection to adorn the fence. The curbs are disappearing, as they suffer ricochet demolition one chunk at a time. Objects are one thing; people are another. In this town, the driver is never charged. The “drive friendly” slogan means nothing these days.
