The best of today’s harvest included wax beans and green beans from the South Austin farmers’ market on South Congress, blueberries from the market downtown at Republic Square, and a specialty cucumber from Boggy Creek Farm, where we arrived after some items had already sold out for the day.

As near as I can recall, Boggy Creek’s first commercial account was Kash-Karry / Fresh Plus. On the seasonal report page, there’s a sign-up link for the newsletter, which has become locally famous.

Sweet corn is expected to be available in quantity next week, depending on the weather.

Tomatoes and summer squash are abundant, just as they’re becoming available from the yard.
