No right-thinking kid would ever want to be shamed by a parental vehicle sporting a bumper sticker to this effect: “my child is an honor student at _____ school.” No right-thinking parent would affix such an affront to any bumper. Yet, such abominations are seen all over Austin.

And today’s downtown farmers’ market at Republic Square seemed more like a dog playdate event than anything else, with French bulldogs predominating.

As we walked toward Congress, we saw a vehicle sporting a sticker with this legend: “my French bulldog is smarter than your honor student.” The two women who walked up and got in were not accompanied by a dog, so they were not contributing go the bulldog overload this morning.

The canine contingent doesn’t really care, but all others should cease and desist, for the sake of offspring mental health.
