A call for reinforcements

According to a report received from the convention center less than an hour ago, only one person was available to enter data on case files for the Red Cross at its bank of computers (on the Waller Creek side). Anyone already cleared to assist the Red Cross who has familiarity with a kayboard and how to use it is welcome. Right now. There are said to be over four thousand cases awaiting entry. This work will continue during the weekend, also.

One thing to consider, however, is that most of the files are at the Givens Recreations Center where we are still processsing claims. As of 11:30 today (when I left Givens) only one box had been sent back to the Convention Center for data entry.

For each person who comes in at Givens (where we are processing), we have to see if there is an existing file and if not create a new file. The more files that are moved back to the Convention Center for data entry, the more laborious this will be.

If you’re desperate to help today, go to Givens and help them file. We were extremely short-handed this morning. I had to come home, so I don’t know what’s happened in the last two hours–but I bet they still need help at Givens.
