Wow! Two pyrotechnical displays on one day, and both visible to more than Westlake people! When the displays are set off in Zilker, they’re more difficult for people more easterly to see. Last night it was wonderful to view them reflected in the downtown part of Town Lake. They weren’t the most spectacular ever, but they were set off in beautiful visual and sound patterns. It was interesting that, perhaps because of the many new and large buildings since the last time there were major downtown fireworks and perhaps because of the humidity in the air, from the south side of the river a lot of the sound was at times heard as though coming from quite a ways east of the actual location. These displays are something that I hope we can look forward to next year.
