· A comic/zine/media festival called Staple is coming the Red Oak Ballroom on March 4th.
· An Oregon writer reflects on last year’s SXSW.
· Day Party Watch: Chunklet Magazine has a fun comic [via] promoting their day party. The Statesman gets in on day party action with this list. Austinist/Gothamist are co-hosting a shindig. “Oh My Rockness” is compiling their event picks. Even SXSW has an official day party list. And as usual, Showlist Austin is compiling ‘em all.
· The Heart of Texas Quadruple Bypass Music Festival, is happening the same time by SXSW. And at $39, their wristbands are a little cheaper than the $130-$170 SXSW is charging this year.
· The other big event for March is the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo. Dwight Yoakam, Ashlee Simpson, Bow Wow and George Jones are set to headline.

SOUNDTEAM is a gem to be cherished.
I remember checking out some of the tunnels under the old dorms by Jester when I used to deliver for Gumby’s Pizza back in 1990. Prather? Roberts? There’s a whole site dedicated to the UT tunnels.
