Our visitors seek Austin souvenirs everywhere. A favored venue is at Kinky Friedman world (or at least Austin) headquarters, out at Armstrong McCall, 5010 Burleson Road. Buttons, bumper-stickers, and every variety of the proliferating tee-shirt series are all available there. This is a great way to (a) see the full selection before your very eyes, (b) avoid shipping charges, and (c) pose for group photos with the handsome old Pontiac Kinky-mobile or the pink teardrop trailer that’s a Kinky semblance, complete with giant hat and cigar stand-ins.

This venue, in addition to being souvenir headquarters, is also a petition-signing station open weekdays from 9 am to 6 pm inside Armstrong McCall. There will be petition-signing opportunities at Auditorium Shores tomorrow from 5 to 9 pm, Friday from 5 to 10 pm, and Saturday from noon to 9 pm. It was unclear, though, whether the full souvenir array would be available at Auditorium Shores.

Nobody could say why the Aggie for Kinky and Longhorn for Kinky tee-shirts are on clearance in the on-line shops when practically nothing else is.
