Happy food!
And music, too, will be available gratis this Sunday, from 11 am to 11 pm, at Fourth and Guadalupe, Republic Square and environs. Austin restaurants serving Mexican food will compete to win in these categories: fajitas, enchiladas, salsa, and margaritas. At the Comida Alegre event will appear Tejano headliners Los Palominos (7:20 pm), plus David Lee Garza y Los Musicales (5:15 pm), along with local favorites Mariachi Relampago (11 am), Maneja Beto, Grupo Rumores, and Grupo Fantasma. Free dance lessons will be available. Update: One radio commercial seemed to be saying that it will cost two dollars to go through the food line (almost free, if true) and that the music is free for certain. Update to the update: It does cost two dollars to go through the food line; Grupo Fantasma has gone from listed to not listed on the program.
Wow! Thanks for posting that. I lurve Grupo Fantasma and you can’t get a better deal than free.
Where will GF be? I don’t see them on the schedule.
I know that GF isn’t showing this at the GF site or at MySpace right now, but the Comida Alegre link shows GF as “pending” in the 4:10 to 5 spot on stage two, so it seemed like a good idea to note this for the ever-growing number GF fanaticos/as
