ACL Festival 2006 Tickets On-Sale Now
The $90 allotment of ACL Festival tickets are on sale now. The Wife heard it on 101x and I just saw a mention over on Austinist. I, of course, didn’t see an announcement e-mail. I expect that around 6pm today after they’ve sold out. The price after service charges and shipping is $112.50. The base price’ll jump up to $100 and then $115 as they sell through the total allotment. As with past years, kids under 10 are free with a ticketed adult. There’s a limit of 6 tickets per person.
I bought one for The Wife, who inexplicably loves going to the festival, but I’ve decided I’ve had enough ACL Festival after last year. It’s too expensive. It’s too hot. Most of the bands don’t play long enough, will play better shows on their own and I tend to only like about 15% of the lineup.
Didn’t get my email either. If the rumored line-up on Austinist is the best of what will be there, I’m definitely not going.
Hey, hey! The e-mail just hit my work and GMail inbox only 4 hours after I posted this, 3.5 hours earlier than I predicted. I’m such a cynic.
I just got it, too. Not sure when they sent it out.

Bollocks.
Well, given that both our initials are “TT”, I’d say it’s alphabetical.
And, in writing this comment, I just had an idea. Thank jebus for having your own domain and unlimited e-mail accounts. I’ll let you know how the experiment goes.
Glad I didn’t obey the server message NOT to refresh and NOT to open another window. By doing both, I got immediate ticket access, and along with it the priviledge of paying $26 in service charges and $9.50 for FedEx ticket delivery. So much for the benefit of being local …
Forgot to mention that I had problems trying to order via Firefox. I kept getting a message telling me that my time to order had expired even though the clock showed something like 8 minutes on the previous page. I ended up switching to IE to get it to go through.
