What the Hail !

I have never experienced the kind of weather I saw today at the San Marcos Outlet Mall.
The sky turned completely white and we had golf-ball to baseball size hail coming down in buckets.
When the sky finally cleared most cars had their windows crashed out – including mine :(

I am meeting my insurance appraiser on Tuesday. I have never had to deal with anything like this so any advice that you can offer is definintely welcome. The car is pretty much totalled.

    Oh, man. That sucks.

I think the trees spared our cars at work and it sounds like you had many more stones in San Marcos. We did see cars that had pulled over into our parking lot for the tree cover.

I had $5k+ damage from an ATX hailstorm once. I still owed on the car so the insurance company wrote the check out to the bank and they paid the body shop. Otherwise I’d have used it for something else. Got all new sheet metal and it looked new again afterwards.

As an Insurance Adjuster, my only advice is…get several estimates. Personally, I would use the repair firm I choose. Also, if the insurance company totals it, make sure you get all that it cost to replace with like kind and quality. http://www.miketbooks.com
