Ten questions, ten answers, and another national review
Willie’s commentary about GWB and the Dixie Chicks has attracted all the attention, but his remarks about Kinky Friedman’s candidacy haven’t garnered much. This Q&A session is in the current issue of Time magazine (August 7; byline Clayton Newman; page 7). Along the way Willie’s book is puffed, though there’s no mention that it’s written “with” Turk Pipkin. And apparently the WSJ pays one Jim Fusilli to cover “rock and pop music.” He pays tribute to Jon Dee Graham as a singer and a songwriter on his latest effort, Full, also recommending in passing Big Sweet Life, showcasing his material as peformed by other Austin luminaries (August 1; page D6; sign-in may be required).
