Young Latino Artists at Mexic-Arte

The Mexic-Arte museum downtown is showcasing the work 11 young Latino artists and the exhibition opening is tonight at 7pm. Admission is free.

This year’s theme, roughly translating to ‘wild youth’, plays with the stereotypical phrase “esta juventud desenfrenada” - an extreme generalization that overlooks the diversity of young individuals in contemporary culture. The featured artists reject these simplistic notions by crafting work utilizing a variety of media, including painting, scultpure, installation, photography, lithographs, woodcuts and more.

Thanks to AMODA for the head’s up on this event!
