Not Your Grandpa’s Scottish Music

One of my more eccentric hobbies involves listening to and playing Celtic music, mostly Irish but sometimes Scottish. Tonight, my favorite Scottish fiddler, Alasdair Fraser, will be performing at the Cactus Cafe. Alasdair will be joined by cello virtuoso Natalie Haas. Their lively combination of fiery upper octave melodies on the fiddle and driving lower octave rhythms on the cello make for some exciting and entertaining Scottish music. And you thought Scottish music was just noisy bagpipes and drums! The show starts at 8:30 and costs $17 at the door.
