There goes the neighborhood

Nearly every morning there’s some gleaming bit of trash (or lots and lots of broken glass) to be picked up near the street. Usually what’s to be found is along the lines of a crumpled-up foil wrapper from a breakfast taco or a smashed beer bottle or a crushed beer can, and not of a fancy brand, either. This morning’s haul was a new one: the container once held San Pellegrino water. Eeeeee-yewwww! And bleee-ah! Who sells that stuff in this town? Surely not H-E-B. If this stuff is billed as the champagne of mineral waters, what’s next? An actual champagne bottle? What fresh hell does this portend?

I think both Central Market and Whole Foods Market sell San Pellegrino.

What’s really sad is that Central Market ran out of their stock of Alba water. It was the most delicious water I’ve ever tasted, just slightly sparkling. And now that it’s gone, I’ll never really be happy drinking any other water again.

” It was the most delicious water I’ve ever tasted”
