You mean I won’t have to drive to Houston?

According to this story in the Statesman, IKEA is considering Round Rock for a new store. Normally, I like my sales tax bucks to stay here in Travis County, but to avoid a trip to Houston, I’ll deal with it.

Oh, and yeah, I wasted my inaugural entry here on IKEA. Go me.

Dallas is also an option once the new store opens this coming summer.

Congratulations on your new Ikea and on joining us fellow Metrobloggers! Now your next post better be on music or somebody’s getting their ass kicked all the way to Chicago!

What if I post on really crappy music? Huh? I can do it – there’s plenty out there.

Seriously though, I’m thinking of posting a “music I would see if funds and time were unlimited” thread every week.

First Crate and Barrel, now IKEA? Whee, Austin sure is racking up the big-box home decor stores!

I can live without C&B and most other chains, but there’s something about IKEA. Maybe I have a genetic predisposition to plastic and funny-sounding names. At least C&B built on a pre-existing site, and didn’t break new big box ground.
