Polkas, huapangos, cumbias
People will dance all these and more, including waltzes and schottisches. The best polka dancers will take home some money on Sunday. For the benefit of the Greater East Austin Youth League, there’s wonderful music to be heard at this multi-day annual event, beginning on Thursday, el cinco de mayo itself, right through until the last note dies away at the end of the conjunto festival on Sunday.
