The line-up for the this season of “Austin City Limits” has been announced. After opening the season on October 13th with Jack Johnson and Rilo Kiley, “Alison Krauss + Union Station will make their fifth appearance on the show premiering October 15, paired with a Kathleen Edwards performance. Other scheduled shows will feature James (October 22), Ben Folds and Ray LaMontagne (October 29), the Killers and Spoon (November 5) and John Prine and Amos Lee (November 12). Still to be scheduled are shows with Wilson, Cafe Tacuba, Franz Ferdinand, Miranda Lambert, Blues Traveler, Widespread Panic and What Made Milwaukee Famous.”

The Austin Movie Show, exiled from the now-defunct Austin Music Network, will begin hosting a live audience for the show’s new incarnation. On October 16th, the show will be filmed at the Paggi House (200 Lee Barton Drive) and streamed as a web cast from the show’s site.

Tom DeLay has been playing the blame game with the Austin American-Statesman, accusing their newspaper’s editorial of directly contributing to his indictment. He’s also blaming Ronnie Earle, a documentary and Hurricane Katrina (just kidding).

Candid Web photographer Cobrasnake was in Austin last weekend for the ACL Festival, shooting hipsters in action at late night fiestas, including the [adult swim] party featuring local band Trail of Dead. [adult swim] will be having one last party October 2nd. Promoter Troy Dillinger comments: “After Saturday’s “…Trail of Dead…” ACL Afterparty and 1200 people (including Jacob Dylan & Franz Ferdinand), Cartoon Network’s attorneys contacted us and made it pretty clear they don’t like to party – congratulations to the drunk guy we threw out for being a real Johnnie Cochran and proving us wrong. We have to “cease and desist”, but we can’t take back all those flyers or Austin Chronicles that are out there. So come out this Sunday for the last ever [adult swim] party!!!”
