Two Snippets in a week? Dang. I must have some free time.

· More UT tunnels: After the Better Than Your Boyfriend site posted about the secret tunnels at UT, KXAN and KVUE did reports on the UT administration being concerned about students infiltrating the system. But fellow Metroblogging correspondent Tim Trentham points out that the story is old news–there is this site dedicated to the tunnels (that the Attorney General and the VP of UT are visiting) and this guy who found them a while ago is unimpressed. From one of the TV news stories, I learned that police had used the tunnels to capture sniper Charles Whitman in the UT tower.

· The television show Rock Star is auditioning in Austin on March 1st. Could you be the next Van Halen (rumored to be appearing) lead singer?

· If you’ve been watching Rollergirls, the reality series about Austin’s Lonestar RollerGirls’ Roller Derby, you’ll want to check out Bob Smith’s roller derby photo gallery.

· Local band the Addictions have written a song called “Rollergirl” and shot a video for it featuring Rollergirl Luna (Sarah).

· Statesman culture/entertainment writer Joe Gross has started blogging (mostly about obscure and local music) again.
