Travis Bickle’s coming to Austin!
Apparently the uber-famous Robert De Niro has decided to donate his vast collection of movie memorabilia to the Harry Ransom Center including correspondence with directors, scripts, costumes and more. Other collections like it in the Ransom Center’s film holdings include those of David O. Selznick, Mike Wallace, Gloria Swanson, and Warren Skaaren. Preservation efforts for some of these items will be funded by the Co-Op. That’s cool and all, Co-Op, but if you think this is going to make up for the loss of my beloved Barnes & Noble’s on the drag, you’ve got another think coming. Anyhow, I’m really looking forward to whenever these finally go on exhibit. (But I thought the Co-Op gallery was predominantly for student work? Hrm.)
