Bombs bursting in air, etc.
Cool stuff for you to do today:
-4th of July fireworks in Zilker with the Austin Symphony Orchestra presented by HEB (free)
-Live music and food on the upper plaza at Whole Foods, where you can watch the aforementioned fireworks ($5)
-The Round Rock July Fourth and Frontier Days Celebration (free)
-Various neighborhood events and parades (for the most part, free)
-Flametrick Subs & Satans Cheerleaders / The Black Irish / Turbo 350 at Emo’s (Usually about $12ish)
And of course,
– Uberdishy Keith Lockhart conducts the Boston Pops while wearing that terrible flag windbreaker on CBS at 9. (priceless)
My best 4o’J in Austin was year before last- I went with friends to hear a really fantastic local band play out in Marble Falls, where we could see the local fireworks as well. It was a very memorable time. Since it’s Tuesday, live music options may be a bit more limited, but I’m sure there’s still plenty of barbecue and potato salad to go around. And that’s really what makes America great anyhow, right? :o) So throw on that Old Navy flag shirt you buy every year and go have a picnic in the sunshine!
