Third attempt a winner?

It’s reported in El Mundo this week that, in a telephone interview with someone at Houston headquarters, Fiesta Mart confirmed that it has plans to take over the former Albertsons location at Stassney and IH-35. The first Fiesta Mart south was where the newest ACC campus is; more recently FiestaMart was in the building that’s now the Alamo Drafthouse South on Lamar. It’ll be interesting to see what Fiesta Mart will do with so much space; this location seems to be at least as large as the store north of the river. The earlier south locations were quite small. I hope this store opens sooner rather than later.

Update: Former employees of Albertsons report that more than one former Albertsons location is destined to morph into a Fiesta Mart. The rumors are strongest about the store on Pleasant Valley; some people have heard that up to five stores will become Fiesta Marts. This is all rumor; only the Stassney change-over has appeared in print, so far as I know.
