Technology Goes Greener
When the bluebonnets are blooming and the tax man is lurking around the corner, you know it’s time again for Austin Free-Net’s Computer Recycling Event. You can drop off used computers, phones and parts, working or not, for safe recycling. The Round2 team evaluates the donations for usability and resale, then removes the marketable metals and parts from nonworking items. The dangerous lead and mercury in monitors and other computer equipment are safely recycled.
When: Saturday, April 21, 2007 from 9 a.m. until noon.
Where: The Spansion parking lot at 5204 E. Ben White Boulevard.
For a printable flyer, map and list of acceptable recyclables go to: Austin Free-Net.
Computer peripherals, parts. and telephones are also acceptable for this recycling event. TVs and VCRs are not.
Don’t just trash your toys. Give them to someone else to recycle or reuse. Just make sure you wipe your hard drive first.
