Glorious Spring Flowers

iris.jpg
I have a confession. I don’t really like yardwork. Others might call it by a more genteel-sounding name, “gardening”, but to me it’s unpleasant work done in the yard, hence yardwork. But I love flowers, and I love this time of year in Austin because of all the wildflowers, growing plants, and other things that I’d have to work for in my own yard. Fortunately, my fiance and I bought a house that came with lots of beautiful irises already planted and growing in the yard. (At least, I think they’re irises. Someone with more knowledge might want to correct me on this.) There are other plants that don’t do so well, such as grass, but the irises are truly spectacular this year, so I just wanted to share a photo.

Looks like an Iris to me. Gorgeous, thanks for sharing. The wildflowers really are beautiful right now. It makes me want to drive to Fredrisksburg.

That is indeed an Iris. There is also a pink evening primrose peeking out from behind it.
Irises are perfect for you. They are almost totally maintenance-free.
